This Privacy Policy explains how Delulu Media Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the gaggle mobile app and our website at joingaggle.app (together, the "Service"). gaggle is a walking-and-community app that helps you build daily walking habits with friends. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
Account details: when you sign in (for example, with Sign in with Apple), we receive your name and email address. Depending on your Apple settings, your email may be a private relay address.
Profile information: your display name, chosen goose avatar, bio, location, daily walking goal, and any social links you add.
Onboarding answers: details you share when you set up, such as your first name, birth date, motivations for walking, and your daily goal.
Your gaggles: the groups ("gaggles") you create or join, their names, and your membership.
Invitations: if you invite a friend, the phone number you choose to send an invite to. We use it only to help you send that invitation.
Waitlist & communications: your email address if you join our waitlist, and the contents of any messages you send us.
Health & activity data
With your permission, gaggle reads step count and walking data from Apple Health (HealthKit) to power features like your daily goal, streaks, and leaderboards. See Section 3 for how we handle this data. You can grant or revoke this access at any time in your device's Settings.
Information collected automatically
Device & usage data: app version, device type, and how you interact with the Service, to keep it running and improve it.
Notifications: a device token so we can deliver push notifications, such as "Honks" from your gaggle.
Log & diagnostic data: basic technical information to detect and fix problems.
2. How we use your information
Provide and personalize the Service — your goals, streaks, garden, petals, and leaderboards.
Enable social features — gaggles, seeing who walked today, Honks, and invitations.
Send notifications you've enabled.
Respond to your questions and provide support.
Keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
3. Apple Health (HealthKit) data
We take your health data seriously. Where gaggle accesses data from Apple Health:
We use it only to provide features you use in the app (like tracking your daily walk, streaks, and progress).
We never use Apple Health data for advertising or marketing.
We never sell your Apple Health data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
You can revoke gaggle's access to Apple Health at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited ways:
With other users: people in your gaggle can see your display name, avatar, and walking activity (such as whether you completed your walk today, your streak, and your standing on leaderboards). Your email, birth date, and precise account details are not shown to other users.
Service providers: trusted companies that help us run the Service — for example, our database and authentication provider (Supabase) and website host (Netlify) — who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you where required.
5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, we send updates such as Honks from friends, streak reminders, and milestone celebrations. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
7. Your choices and rights
Access, update, or correct your profile information in the app.
Revoke Apple Health access, notification permissions, or contact access at any time in your device settings.
Delete your account, which removes your personal information as described above.
Depending on where you live (for example, under Canada's PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR, or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
8. Children's privacy
gaggle is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to safeguard your data.
10. International data transfers
Delulu Media Inc. is based in Canada, and our service providers may process and store data in other countries, including the United States. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than your own.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll provide additional notice where appropriate.
